Boston Book Festival - Boston, MA

Boston Book Festival - Boston, MA

Readers, this is not a post about an independent bookstore but something that I hope you find interesting nonetheless.  It just so happened, coincidentally, on my recent New England bookstore tour that the annual Boston Book Festival was being held in Copley Square.  Now THIS, is the true mecca for book lovers.  Many of you residing in the eastern US may be familiar with this great festival and/or attended.  But for those not familiar, this is an incredible event.

This festival is about all things books and especially for all in the New England area.  There are many booths of publishers, bookstores, and organizations as well as lots of author appearances and guest speakers.  On the day I was there I heard noted historian and author Doris Kearns Goodwin speak at Trinity Church, located right on the square.  There's also live music and some food vendors.  I know there are other similar events around the country but I don't have anything to compare this to.

Eastern US residents should definitely check this out if you haven't already.  And since the rest of you will be going to New England to visit some independent bookstores I've recommended, just arrange that trip to coincide with next year's Boston Book Festival.  Go to an indie and buy a book.  Bonsoir.

Aspiring writers, here's your chance.

Many of the guest speakers at the Boston Book Festival speak here at Trinity Church, located right on Copley Square. The spacious sanctuary can accommodate large crowds.

Another view of Copley Square and the great crowds.

It is easier than ever to publish your written work today.
